ECO–GO–GO

Here's a poster design I did for Ryan's boyfriend Johnny's salon, DV8 Salon & Spa. It was kind of a little favor but my compensation is free haircuts for life! Which will certainly pay off in the end. Matthew (Books and Blood) and I will be DJing the opening as well. More details on that soon I'm sure, as I will probably be doing the flyer for that as well. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Leaders of Men

So I thought I'd post some works in progress for my Illustration class. I'm not the best illustrator in the world but I think my style has it's good qualities. Click on the images to get a better view. The one below of course is just a graphite sketch, mostly for composition sake.

If you don't already know, the subject(s) in question is Ian Curtis and his band Joy Division. I also have Tony Wilson and Martin Hannett in the top one. I'm not linking those names because it's a shame if you don't know who these people are. Yeah I'm an elitest but hey guess what... it's my blog! I'm just playing, I love all two of you! Haha!

Kyle Geiger Poster

At long last I have some original design to show. This one is pretty self explanatory. It is basically a poster for a techno event, of which I've done many. With this I tried to just have a lot of fun with the typography. The photo isn't great, I know, but it was the only photo I had to work with and it was the photo that the DJ wanted me to use. All things considering I think I pulled off an interesting design that will grab people's attention down at Clique Lounge.

Of Little Mother

I was looking up images of the Avant Garde typeface for a friend today and I found this to be amusing. This one is for Alex.

On further perusing however, I found a pretty good design site called Of Little Mother. In particular there was a shirt that I saw that i fell in love with but I wasn't able to find where I could purchase it or anything.

If you can find this out for me I'll love your forever. Or if that doesn't suit you I'll convince whoever you love to love you back. Unless of course I love them in which case you're screwed.

I have to go to my robotics class now. We have critique. I'll have pictures from that when I get back tonight.
